Regulatory Framework
The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 & specifically Regulation 4 - "Duty to Manage Asbestos in Non-Domestic Premises"
-
These regulations have reinforced
the obligations of Employers and Duty Holders, first drafted in Control of
Asbestos Regulations 2002
-
Employers are required to ensure
their employees have the skills and the knowledge to safely deal with asbestos
in their day to day activities
-
These Regulations reinforce the
need for training to ensure the safety of all workers and building occupants
-
Asbestos Management Plans must now include how those responsible for buildings and those working on buildings have trained their staff to recognise and avoid the risks of asbestos
