Regulatory Framework

The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 & specifically Regulation 4 - "Duty to Manage Asbestos in Non-Domestic Premises"

  • These regulations have reinforced the obligations of Employers and Duty Holders, first drafted in Control of Asbestos Regulations 2002

  • Employers are required to ensure their employees have the skills and the knowledge to safely deal with asbestos in their day to day activities

  • These Regulations reinforce the need for training to ensure the safety of all workers and building occupants

  • Asbestos Management Plans must now include how those responsible for buildings and those working on buildings have trained their staff to recognise and avoid the risks of asbestos

UKATA works alongside the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to monitor training standards in Asbestos

testimonials

“I thought I knew a bit about asbestos before I attended the awareness course at Enquin, however afterwards it was really brought home to me how extensive its use was, the dangers and my responsibilities.”
