Helping South Wales Work Well

Enquin Environmental is delighted to be attending the second Annual Conference of the South Wales Safety Groups Alliance on Wednesday 5 April 2017 at the Liberty Stadium, Swansea. IOSH’s South Wales branch is organising the event ‘Helping South Wales Work Well’ along with other South Wales Safety Group members. The alliance has been formed between The Wales IIRSM Branch, The South Wales Construction Safety Group, The Cardiff & South East Wales Occupational Health & Safety Group and the Swansea & West Wales Occupational Safety Group.

The Conference will cover the six strategic themes in the recently published strategy for Great Britain’s occupational health and safety system ‘Helping GB Work Well’. Through which the HSE is seeking to influence the system over the next five years. These six themes are:

  • Acting together – promoting broader ownership of health and safety
  • Preventing ill health – highlighting and tackling the costs
  • Managing risk well and sensibly – simplifying risk management and helping businesses to grow
  • Supporting small employers – giving SMEs simple advice so they know what they have to do and how to manage their responsibilities
  • Keeping pace with change – anticipating and tackling new health and safety challenges
  • Sharing success – promoting the benefits of Great Britain’s world class health and safety system

The Chair for the day Is Neil Craig, Head of Field Operations: HSE Wales and the Marches, and speakers include industry leaders in Health and Safety, Public Health Wales and the President of The International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM). The event is aimed at all safety and health professionals, managers and directors. The cost is £95+VAT which includes the opportunity to bring a colleague for free.

Enquin Environmental will be exhibiting at the event alongside 35 other exhibitors such as the HSE, Safety Groups UK, IOSH, Public Health Wales and Cardiff Metropolitan University.
